inversion after negative adverbials | Never have I... | English grammar | how to English

Описание к видео inversion after negative adverbials | Never have I... | English grammar | how to English

English grammar made easy :) The term "inversion" means inverting (changing) the normal word order in a sentence. In English, we use inversion to add emphasis. Inversion is usually used in formal language.

In today's video you are going to learn how to use inversion after negative adverbials, such as never, rarely, seldom, and no sooner. You are going to learn how to invert sentences correctly.
I divided this video into 6 parts:
what is inversion?
never, rarely, seldom (Never have I seen so many sad people.)
little (Little did I know what was going to happen.)
hardly, barely, scarcely, no sooner (Hardly had I left the bank when there was a robbery.)
only (Only when I'm alone can I relax.)
no¬ (Under no circumstances are you allowed to open the door.)

At the end of each part there is a short exercise - so that you can master your grammar :)
