39 Adivasi People's Liberation Army Cadres laid down Arms and surrendered in front of Devojyoti Mukherjee, IPS IGP Central Range & Brig SK Shukla, DIG 6 Sector, Assam Rifles at Bokajan Police Station on 2nd June. Total No of Weapons - 3 Ak Rifles, 19 pistols, 5 other Rifles, 2 grenades and few live ammunition were seized.
APLA was formed in the year 2019 by few members defected from ANLA with many demands in hand to be fulfilled by Assam government to the Adivasi, Sahil Munda, Commander-In-Chief, APLA talking with NLTV said the cause of the formation of APLA is to liberate their people were Adivasi are deprived from development the best example he gave was the Tea Garden Workers just getting Rs.130 or 200 as their daily wage
