YARN: LION BRAND RE-SPUN #4, 10 OZ / 285 G, 658YD / 602M
NEEDLE: 3 & 4 MM

SWATCH & GAUGE: 4” X 4” = 19 STS X 23 ROWS
Actual Neck Measurement: 12”
Desired Neck Opening Measurement: 24”
CAST ON” [X]
MATH
4” X [X] = 19 X 24
4[X] = 456
X = 114

CAST ON: 120 OR MULTIPLE OF 12
RIB: (K2, P2) until your desire length / I did 11 rows about 1.5”
PREP ROW: All Knit X 1 row – with 1 size bigger needle & Adding Markers
[Raglan Markers]
WHOLE STS / 6 = BASE #
MINE: 120 / 6 = 20  My Base #
Back & Front: Base # X 2, Mine is 40 STS each
Sleeve: Base # X 1, Mine is 20 STS each

[Side Markers]
WHOLE STS / 2 = SPLIT IN HALF (FRONT & BACK)
MINE: 120 / 2 = 60

[GSR MATH]
TARGET HEIGHT: 2” = 12 Rows  MUST be an even #
TARGET STS COUNT: BACK HALF = 60 STS
GSR #: TARGET STS COUNT / TARGET ROWS
MINE: 60 / 12 = 5 STS

[INCREASING RAGLAN ROW in FLAT with GSR] – Watch the Video
KR1(RS): K UNTIL LAST 1 ST BEFORE M, M1R, K1, SM, K1, M1L
KR2(WS): ALL PURL

PR1(WS): P UNTIL LAST 1 ST BEFORE M, M1LP, P1, SM, P1, M1RP
PR2(RS): ALL KNIT

[GSR]
GR1(RS): K5, TURN
GR2(WS): YFSL1P, TUG THE YARN TO CREATE W ST, (PM1), YF, P UNTIL BEG M, P5, TURN
GR3(RS): YFSL1P, TUG THE YARN TO CREATE W ST, (PM2), YB, K UNTIL BEG M, K UNTIL (RM1), GK2TOG, K5, TURN
GR4(WS): YFSL1P, TUG THE YARN TO CREATE W ST, (PM1), YF, P UNTIL M2, (RM2), GP2TOG, P5, TURN
REP GR3 & GR4 UNTIL your desire row count
When you did last GK2TOG, keep knitting until BEG M

[INCREASING AT RAGLAN Ms in ROUND without GSR]
IR1(RS): K UNTIL LAST 1 ST BEFORE M, M1R, K1, SM, K1, M1L – REPEAT AT EVERY MAKRES
IR2(WS): ALL KNIT
REPEAT IR1 & IR2 UNTIL YOUR DESIRE LENGTH, the bottom of Raglan line must be met at the armpit.
I repeated 22 times, total of 44 rows – the raglan line is 7.5” from the bottom of neck.
Count Front & Back PS – for me, 82 STS + 86 STS = total of 168 – which is about 35”
Under Armpit as new casts – 1.5” which is 8 STS
Total STS count is 168 + 16 = 184 which is about 38.5”

[SEPARATE SLEEVES FROM THE BODY]
Knit until 1st marker, transfer all sleeve STS onto the scrap yarn, add new casts (8 STS for me), knit until 3rd marker, transfer all sleeve STS onto the scrap yarn, add new casts (8 STS for me), knit until BEG marker.

[BODY]
Knit until your desire length

[INCREASE BEFORE RIB(OPTIONAL)]
Current Stitch count X (1.2 ~ 1.3) = pick the number of multiple of 4
184 X 1.2 = 220
184 X 1.3 = 239
I picked 220, 220 – 184 = 36 → This is how many I will increase.
184 / 36 = 5.25
I increase 1 ST every 5 STS

(K5, M1R OR M1L) until your desire stitch count
After increasing, knit 1 row

[RIB] 1 size smaller needle
(K2, P2) until your desire length

[BIND OFF] 1 size bigger needle

[SLEEVE CONNECTION]
Add 2 Markers: 1. Before the last original ST, 2. Before the last new cast ST
• Knit 2 extra STS for both side in between A: last original ST and first new cast, B: last new cast
and first original ST (Total of 4 STS)
• Knit up above the new cast + 1 ST (I added 8 New Cast + 1 ST = 9 STS)
I. Knit 1st and 2nd extra STS up starting right after the last original ST
II. Knit up above the new casts + 1 ST
III. Knit 3rd and 4th extra STS up
IV. Knit until 1st M, (RM) SSK, K2TOG, knit until 2nd M, (RM) SSK, K2TOG, Knit until BEG M

[SLEEVE DECREASING]
CURRENT STS COUNT: 73 STS
GOAL STS COUNT: 36 STS  MULTIPLE OF 4
TTL DECREASING STS  73 – 36 = 37 STS
DESIRE LENGTH: 15”  86 ROWS
37 / 2 = 18.5
86 / 18.5 = 4.6

DECREASE 2 STS EVERY 4th and 5th ROWS, 4TH, 9TH, 13TH, 18TH, 22ND , 27TH, 31ST, 36TH, 40TH, 45TH, 49TH, 54TH, 58TH, 63RD, 67TH, 72ND, 76TH, 81ST, & 85TH (only 1 st decrease on 85th row)

K1, K2TOG, K UNTIL LAST 3 STS, SSK, K1

KNIT 1 ROWS after decreasing

[RIB]
(K2, P2) UNTIL YOUR DESIRE LENGTH

[BIND OFF]
With tapestry needle
