╔ About The Brooklinen Down Pillow ╗
Rich and Vicki Fulop launched Brooklinen in 2014 following a successful Kickstarter campaign. The couple focused on how well they related to their customers as people who just want luxury, hotel quality bedding without the exuberant price tag. Brooklinen’s products are available exclusively online.

Brooklinen’s down pillows are made using goose down, specifically Canadian goose white down. There are three firmness options: plush, mid-plush, and firm. The plush down pillow is filled solely with white down. However, the mid-plush and firm down pillows feature a feather core that adds a noticeable amount of firmness and support.

Brooklinen’s down alternative pillows mimic the sensation of a pure down pillow thanks to the use of 100 percent shaved microfibers as a filling. As with Brooklinen’s down pillows, the down alternative pillows come in “plush,” “mid-plush,” and “firm” options.

All of Brooklinen’s pillows are encased in a 100 percent cotton shell. Their pillows are also crafted to be antimicrobial and hypoallergenic, freeing sleepers of concerns related to unwanted bacteria growth and allergies.

With the Brooklinen Down Pillow, a few sleepers did notice a “feather” like odor that was unpleasant. However, most said that the odor went away with a little airing out. There were also a few complaints about feeling the feathers near the surface of the pillow.

Brooklinen’s down and down alternative pillows are encased in a 100 percent long-staple cotton casing. The cotton exterior has a 400 thread count, creating a sleep surface that’s smooth and soft to the touch.

The Brooklinen Down Pillow is comprised of ethically-produced Canadian White Down clusters sourced from Hutterite farms. Although marketed as a down pillow, it’s important to note that the purity depends on which firmness level you choose. For example, the “plush” pillow is comprised of 100 percent fluffy down clusters. Meanwhile, Brookline’s “mid-plush” down pillow contains a dual-core that’s made up of feathers surrounded by down. The “firm” option also has a dual-core; the difference is that while “mid-plush” pillows are made up of 80 percent feathers, the “firm” pillow cores are 86 percent feathers. Brooklinen Down Pillows are certified with the Down Association of Canada.

Additionally, all of Brooklinen’s pillows are treated with Ultra Fresh Antimicrobial. Ultra Fresh is US EPA registered, BPR compliant, and OEKO-TEX certified. The substance helps prevent the growth of bacteria while prolonging the life of Brooklinen Pillows.

There are three different firmness levels available in three different firmness options: “plush” (soft), “mid-plush” (medium), and “firm.” With Brooklinen Down Pillows, the firmness level is directly impacted by the percentage of feathers making up the pillow’s core. By making these adjustments, Brooklinen can provide sleepers with additional firmness choices than what would be available with a pure down pillow.
