Peripheral artery disease is a narrowing of the peripheral arteries suppling the legs. PAD most commonly affects arteries in the legs mainly caused by atherosclerosis.

Symptoms of Peripheral Artery Disease

1. Leg weakness.
2. Foot or the lower leg may feel cold.
3. Intermittent claudication – feel pain when walking or climbing stairs and getting relief on rest.
4. Numbness in the legs.
5. Ulcers on the toe.
6. Skin color become dark to black.
7. Difficulty in finding a pulse in the leg or foot.
8. Erectile dysfunction (impotence in men, problems achieving or sustaining an erection).
