Jegog Sanggar Suar Agung - Dharma Kusuma Instrumental

This video was recorded in Bali Art Center, during the Bali Art Festival 2019. The Jegog was performed by Sanggar Suar Agung from Jembrana Regency, as the only regency where the instrument of Jegog can be found. The performance was also attended by His Excellency Governor of Bali, His Excellency The General Consulate of Japan and other Important Persons from The Government. The bamboo instrumental of Jegog is believed known for the first develops was around 1928, which its first function is to call the society members of local community in the village or banjar for meeting or mutual collective cooperation or others. The social life of this bamboo orchestra is already become part of daily life of The Balinese in Jembrana and still exist up till now. As the specific music orchestra that only can be found in Jembrana. now the existence of Jegog is develops to accompany some new creations of various dances. Happy watching
