Sim Racing Like It's 1996! | Rebuilding a Thrustmaster T2

Описание к видео Sim Racing Like It's 1996! | Rebuilding a Thrustmaster T2

Sim Racing in the 90s was, well, a little different. This Thrustmaster T2 wheel, sans force feedback* was my entry point to the hobby back in 1996, and in today's video, I track down and restore one of those wheels to it's former glory, as my contribution to the retro gaming cannon.

As far as sim racing wheels go, the Thrustmaster T2 was actually ahead of it's time. Long before Force feedback, they implemented a crude, but well, crude wheel self centring system ,which was uncommon on racing sim gear at the time.

Tracking down and rebuilding a Thrustmaster T2 has been a bucket list item for me for a long time, not least of all because of how much time I spend watching retro gaming content on youtube. But, as much of a nostalgia trip it has been to recreate this classic sim racing wheel, I think I'll probably stick with it's modern force feedback equipped descendants!
