Tantamani, also known as Tanutamun or Tanwetamani, was the final pharaoh of Egypt's 25th Dynasty, reigning from 664 to 653 BC. His rule marked the end of the Nubian Dynasty, also celebrated as the Black Pharaohs. This dynasty, originating from Napata in modern-day Sudan, exerted control over Egypt, signifying a period where the culture and power of ancient Nubia reached its zenith.

Tantamani's royal name, Bakare, meaning "Glorious is the Soul of Re," encapsulates the deep religious and cultural ties shared between Egypt and Nubia. His reign, though relatively short, was a time of significant cultural fusion and political intrigue. The 25th Dynasty is renowned for its architectural and artistic achievements, heavily influenced by traditional Egyptian styles, yet distinctively Nubian in essence.
