Group 1 winner at last! TAMFANA strikes in the Sun Chariot Stakes | Racing TV

She hasn't done badly for a €20,000 buy!

Tamfana - so unlucky in the 1000 Guineas here on the Rowley Mile back in the spring and beatenb by narrow margins in two Group 1 races in France since - finally gets her deserved breakthrough at the top level with victory in the Virgin Bet Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket.

Traier David Menuisier described his first emotion as "relief" after his high-class filly finally got the prize she deserved right towards the end of the season, while multiple Irish champion Colin Keane - taking over from the unavailable Oisin Murphy - struck with a typical no-nonsense ride to land his first British Group One victory.

This story has its happy ending but one with potentially still more to offer - although this success was at a mile, Tamfana does stay further and Menuisier didn't dismiss a bid at the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe no less as a four-year-old next year...
