I wanted to know what happens when you send a full carnivore lineup into prehistoric ocean territory. Not a controlled engagement — an actual exploration run where the opposition is unknown until contact is made.

Land carnivores entering open ocean aren't just out of their element — they're entering an environment that already has an established hierarchy. The sharks don't wait for the dinosaurs to adjust. The megalodon variant at the far end of the water isn't even the first thing they encounter, which means most of the lineup is already damaged before the real pressure starts.

Spinosaurus handles the transition better than anything else on the platform. That's expected. What wasn't expected was how the mid-tier carnivores processed the shift — some of them pushed further into the water than their build had any right to support, driven by aggression patterns that don't account for three-dimensional opposition coming from below.

The prehistoric ocean doesn't care what apex meant on land. Every carnivore in this lineup finds that out at a different depth.

I'm tracking how far each species ventures before the first forced retreat, which aquatic predators initiate contact first, and whether anything from the land side holds its own past the shallow zone.
