What is 5G?

The race is on to develop newer, faster cellular networks. Some companies are already touting 5G systems that will be up and running in certain cities next year but the network as a whole likely won't be fully functional till 2020. The promise is to connect nearly every aspect our lives over an incredibly fast, reliable wireless network and companies are spending billions to make sure they aren't left behind. But what is 5G?
