It's a situation that exists with food from many of the countries of Southeast Asia. Thailand and Vietnam get all or the headlines and recognition, while culinary treasures in other countries go unnoticed by the majority of people.

That is the case for the food of Malaysia. From Nasi Lemak, to Hainanese Chicken Rice, to Pai Tee, dishes thrill those who try them, but are never experienced by the majority.

In this video, I try well over 20 different tastes from Malaysian cuisine. See what I like and what I would pass on the next time. Most meals were eaten in Kuala Lumpur, but there were also some plates in Melaka and Penang. I make stops in KL's Central Market and on Jalan Alor.
