Visit to Spectacular Gottweig Abby in the Wachau Valley in Austria.

Описание к видео Visit to Spectacular Gottweig Abby in the Wachau Valley in Austria.

On the next stop of our Viking River cruise, we docked at Krems and followed a tour to the famous Gottweig Abby which is a working baroque Benedictine monastery. It sits on the southern entry to the Wachau valley. This abby is famous for its apricot jams and wines which are crafted on location. Complimentary wines were provided and the views inside and outside the monastery are truly breathtaking - especially the grand staircase and ceiling fresco inside the abby. The founder of the monastery - St Altmann is entombed in the crypt of the monastery. In all, visiting the Gottweig Abby has truly been a memorable experience and we hope you will also enjoy the sights that we have captured as it also enables us to relieve our memory to this fascinating abby.
