We are Team ScriptRippers, and our project, WarAID, is designed to support both civilians and officials in war-affected regions. This solution leverages Ballerina’s advanced features to solve the critical challenge of accessing timely and accurate information during conflicts.

How We Used Ballerina:
We utilized Ballerina for building a microservices architecture, API integration, and cloud services to ensure reliable and efficient delivery of real-time information and support. Our services, such as the documentation tool service, AI Medical Assistant service, news service, JWT service, alert message service, and location service, are handled as separate Ballerina services to align with a microservices architecture. This approach minimizes conflicts and downtime by running separate backend services on different ports.

We enhanced the security of admin page access using the JWT package of Ballerina services.
Real-time notifications are provided through the WebSockets package of Ballerina.
For the AI Medical Assistant we merely used the HTTP requests of Ballerina to deal with the requests. Azure Openai chatbot service was utilized for this functionality.
For transcription, we utilized the Whisper AI model with the OpenAI API combined with the Ballerina openai.audio package.
We used AWS S3 cloud services combined with the Ballerina AWS.s3 package to store files, videos, and images.
The news service is handled with the Ballerina newsapi package, and we used the MySQL package of Ballerina to store user data.
