Judo Techniques for blind children

I've never worked with blind kids in my entire life, so when the Nevada Blind children's Foundation contacted us about helping out with their Summer Camps, I was very nervous.

I thought about what to teach and how to teach it for quite a while, but because I did not have the experience or references needed to make these decisions, I decided to wait until the actual class came around.

What I found is that if you really break down movement into descriptions of how their body should be positioned, teaching blind and low sight kids is actually pretty easy. In fact, I have had kids with perfect vision in class, who could not learn as fast as these guys did. The credit all goes to the kids: Adam, Nikki, Carly, and Taylor. These kids put a lot of effort into their training and they really appreciated it.
