The 2000 Yankees saw down offensive years from a few core players. With the division race tight at the end of June and the Yanks in need of a power bat, they acquired David Justice from Cleveland. In 78 games down the stretch, Justice slashed .305/.391/.585 with 20 homers and 60 RBI, leading the Yanks to their 3rd straight AL East title.

Justice didn’t have a particularly strong postseason overall, but did contribute a with a few big homers in the first 2 rounds (most notably the go-ahead shot in Game 6 of the ALCS) and a 2 run double in Game 1 of the World Series.
