Retiring Mayor of South Waikato District Council, Jenny Shattock thinks the idea is brilliant for our town and thanked @Food Stuff North Island and Dave and Butterbean Motivation for joining forces to help out and support our community.

HOW IT WORKS
Raukawa Vibes asks Willa Hand from Foodstuffs North Island to tell us how it all works for whānau who might need help to get food and essentials this week can:

1. Visit or contact your local social service providers who are here to help anyone in times of need.

Raukawa Charitable Trust
South Waikato Pacific Islands Community Services
TCOSS
Ministry of Social Development NZ

2. They will book a referral through to Nora and Dee at the Tokoroa Social Supermarket

3. Come and shop at the Tokoroa Social Supermarket with their "koha model" to help in times of need.

Foodstuffs North Island Chris Quin said "This was about dignity and about respect, and about people gaining the skills... to get up and out".

Dee Shortland from BBM HQ Tokoroa says " we want it to be like being at home. Like you're welcome to come in. especially even with the gym..... the gym can be a scary place for a lot of people so we just want people to be relaxed and come and have a look and just join in".
