Axel Vervoordt is pleased to present the group exhibition, Liturgie colorée, in the Henro and Ma-ka spaces at Kanaal. The exhibition features work by Saburo Murakami, Anish Kapoor, Jef Verheyen, Kazuo Shiraga, Gotthard Graubner, Bosco Sodi, Chung Chang-Sup, Raimund Girke, Michel Mouffe, Masaomi Raku, and Renato Nicolodi.

Masaomi Raku started this series when he was in his twenties, based on the principle of the circle of life in nature, the symbiosis between life, earth, and wind. The concept of the great nature, its beauty, its durability, and its aging, transforming itself to another thing is divine and sublime.

This theme served as a basis during his scholarship in his youth. This sculpture series "Transmigration" is formed by a natural cleaved face on one side and a carved one on the other side.

"I first cut the stone and then, maintaining the rough face, the rest of the surface is carved with tools. The final form is decided by the same, there is no end in itself, only the intuition guides me to sculpt and complete the work."
