Day 2 of Eventing Camp at Hickstead - Amira gets confident!

The British Horse Society hosted a fantastic camp at the Hickstead showgrounds, which was the best opportunity for Amira and I to push ourselves!

On day 2, we started off with cross country and Amira absolutely wowed everybody - myself included - with just how bold she was. In comparison to the session from they day prior (see previous vlog), it was like night and day. We then had an hour of pilates for equestrians follow by lunch and an equine dentistry talk.

In the afternoon, we had a flatwork session working on bend and suppleness on a serpentine. For our canter work, the instructor helped me stop Amira falling out with the outside shoulder by having me look in the opposite direction. What this does is shift my seatbones back in a more central position which allows Amira to stay straighter - I will be incorporating this at home for sure!
