Despite Marco van Basten scoring a hat-trick it was Ruud Gullit who stood apart as the best player on the pitch that night. Playing on the right wing he roasted the opposition's left back time and again before crossing the ball centrally or shooting himself.

One of the best games by Ruud Gullit as a more or less orthodox right winger — the great Dutchman was often used in a more central roles but here he showcases just how effective he can be even in a more tactically limited role.
