Romans opens with an answer that does not start with what you should achieve, but with what God has already done in Jesus Christ. This is the gospel, the good news that steadies our souls and gives us something solid to build on.
Paul begins this letter to those in the church in Rome to encourage them in their faith. A calling to belong to Jesus Christ and to live with a higher allegiance. As we dig into scripture, this should change how we see ourselves, how we see others, and how we step into this year ahead. When the gospel is our solid foundation, faith grows strong, and the story God is writing through us together.
