Nevada’s forgotten mining country has a way of surprising you.
What started as a simple morning leaving camp turned into one of our most intense and unforgettable days on the trail. We unknowingly camped just outside the abandoned Schellbourne Station — once a Pony Express stop in 1860 — and the moment we hit the road, the day took us deep into Nevada’s ghost history.

From the massive ruins of Hamilton, to the 9,000-ft perch of Treasure City, to a tense spirit box session among the stone walls… we thought we’d already lived the crazy part of the day. But the trail had other plans.
A washed-out, narrow drop-off forced us to back the Jeep Gladiator out meter-by-meter with nothing but air beside us. And later, at Belmont Mill, we captured knocks on the camera that we NEVER heard in person.

This is one of our favorite overlanding adventures to date — a mix of history, challenge, silence, and mystery in the heart of Nevada’s forgotten mining frontier.
