This is the first part of a two-part interview with cartoonist and graphic novelist Roz Chast, largely renowned for four decades of contributions to "The New Yorker." Chast is also the author and illustrator of a number of books, including 2014’s award-winning bestseller "Can’t We Talk About Something More Pleasant?" and 2017’s "Going Into Town: A Love Letter to New York." Host Paula Marantz Cohen and Chast recount the artist’s path from modest Brooklyn upbringings to the pages of "The New Yorker;" motifs and social commentary in her work; and her lifelong love affair with New York.
