The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come meets Scrooge at the stage when he wants to change his ways. This sparks another night's journey across different visions but, this time, visions of the future. He witnesses vastly contrasting reactions to death: the first involves mockery, theft, and relief in response to the death of an unknown (at the time), rich figure.
Upon Scrooge's plea to the Spirit, "Let me see some tenderness connected with a death", he is shown the impact of a second passing; that of Tiny Tim. He witnesses the Cratchits' utter grief at Tim's passing, although they express their happiness in being able to share his life.
The Ghost of Christmas Past then takes Scrooge to his final destination for the night for him to discover the identity of the unknown rich man. On locating the gravestone of this unidentified figure, he's horrified to find his own name upon it. Scrooge begs for a chance to change his ways and show he's learnt his lessons from each of the Three Spirits.
