Karen Read Attends Hearing Regarding Shocking New Evidence

Karen Read, accused of murdering her husband in 2022, attended a pretrial hearing concerning new evidence that the state is seeking to include in the second trial, which is expected to take place in January 2025. Read initially went on trial in July 2024, but the judge declared a mistrial.

Karen Read faces several charges including second-degree murder, manslaughter while operating under the influence of alcohol, and leaving the scene of personal injury and death. She was arrested in February of 2022, a few days after John O’Keefe died. If convicted, Read faces life in prison.
