Benign tumors of the hard palate, such as fibromas, are non-cancerous growths that typically arise from the connective tissue or epithelial cells in the area. These tumors are usually slow-growing and may present as painless masses on the roof of the mouth. While they are generally not a cause for concern, it is important to have them evaluated by a healthcare professional to rule out any potential complications or to determine if treatment is necessary.

Surgical Procedure:

The surgeon initially attempted to enucleate the fibroma.
Enucleation involves separating the tumor from its surrounding tissues without disrupting its capsule.
If enucleation was not feasible, the surgeon would have resorted to removing the tumor with a pedicle (which typically involves excising the tumor along with a small margin of surrounding tissue).

Optimizing the healing of tumour bed:

After removing the fibroma, the surgeon sutured the raw area left on the hard palate using 6-0 rapid Vicryl sutures.
Bactigrass packing was used to apply pressure and ensure the flap remained in contact with the palate to prevent dead space or bleeding.
The dressing was planned to be kept for 5-6 days to support healing and prevent necrosis of the flap.
The hard palate dressing was eventually removed after 3 days.

Healing Process:

Two weeks post-surgery, the patient showed complete healing of the raw area on the hard palate.
