Here are a few selections from our September homestead garden tours. We are growing in zone 3 on the Canadian prairies with an average last frost date of May 21 and first frost date of September 15.

This month, I chose to focus on the five core variables that have the largest influence on plant performance. I highlight examples related to water (1:16), light (4:08), temperature (5:46) , space (9:34), and soil (17:02) and tie everything together by showing what it takes to grow a successful crop of corn (21:52).
