The color red is symbolizing the periods in girls and the color of earth symbolizing the Mother Earth.

And here I am proudly representing my Odisha culture by wearing our Odisha Handloom. It’s time to show the world how rich our art and culture is .

So Raja festival we celebrate it for Four days .
13th June is celebrated as Raja Saja Baja means girls get ready for Raja . They apply Mehendi in hand buy new clothes .
14th June we celebrate it as Pahili Raja means 1st day of Raja .
15th June Is celebrated as Raja Shankranti .
16th June as Sesa Raja and 17th as Basumati Snana .

So during this festival women’s are supposed to chill and celebrate by swing , wearing new clothes . They not supposed to work , cook and comb or walk wearing chappals as there is a belief that mother earth will get hurt as she is in her periods .
Even farmers avoid cultivation during these days .

Homes brim with essence of delicious Odia food like Poda pitha , kakara pitha and many verities of foods and sweets .

Girls and boys play cards ,
kho-kho and many type of games .

But saddest part is somewhere people are forgetting our culture and most of the young generation are not aware of the depth meaning of our festival . It’s high time now to show everyone how rich is our culture and teach our new generation about our culture.
