Meet the Global Advocacy Team: Real-World Changemakers

The Global Advocacy Team is a group of passionate individuals and community collectives united by a common goal: creating a better world through community-led development. This is the Global Advocacy Team (GAT), a powerful force for change.

In 2012, the International Accountability Project (IAP) assembled the first GAT to document community knowledge and challenge traditional development models. This groundbreaking initiative paved the way for the second GAT cohort in 2021.

This video spotlights the inspiring journey of the second GAT cohort. After two years of learning and collaboration, they documented their dreams, experiences, analyses, and recommendations through community-led action research. They advocate for what genuine community-led development should look like by empowering the communities to create their own community-led development plans in seven countries.

IAP and the GAT will use this report as a tool to advocate for community-led development as a viable alternative.
