April has been exceptionally warm in our part of North Carolina.

In Raleigh, it's been the warmest on record. In Fayetteville, it's been the sixth-warmest on record. If you look at spring overall (since the start of meteorological spring on March 1), you'll find that it's been the second-warmest on record in Raleigh and the sixth-warmest on record in Fayetteville.

Out of all four seasons, winter is the fastest-warming season in the Raleigh-Durham area over the last several decades. This is according to Climate Central.
