Episode 13 of season 3 of the bad batch is here and we need to break it down. So let’s get straight into it. We begin the episode on Tantiss where we see Omega quickly assimilates into her new environment which is a stark contrast to how she reacted when she was first brought to Tantiss. And this is likely due to the fact that she has now chosen to be there whereas previously she was brought there against her will. Omega immediately sets out with a mission and meets Eva who is holding her homemade lula doll given by Emerie in a previous episode. She quickly meets the rest of the kids and starts gathering information about the place. I do think that Omega taking note of Emerie giving Eva her Lula doll might be a clue that Emerie could be turned to help their cause. We cut back to the other bad batch members and Rampart as they wait for Echo’s arrival. Echo calls Rampart a Hydrosnake which is a new creature we have never heard before and we quickly learn that in order for them to get the coordinates to Tantiss they will need to infiltrate imperial station 003 orbiting coruscant and get it from a ship heading for Tantiss. And the station that we see orbiting around the planet is one of several space stations orbiting coruscant. These stations primarily consisted of Goland defense platforms but in the case of this imperial station it's probably more of a docking station than anything. The team gives Rampart a captain’s uniform and he says… (scene). Which I thought was kinda funny and very much in line with Rampart’s obnoxiously high regard for himself.

Back on Tantiss Emerie takes a sample from Omega and Omega studies her surroundings as she notes where the droid deposits the samples. Omega also sneakily takes a tool of sorts in the process. Omega then begins to inspire the rest for an escape plan and her determination and resoluteness to escape demonstrates a lot of confidence in her own abilities which also goes to show how much she has grown throughout the story so far. And throughout this scene I did start to wonder if these kids were going to be part of a new team/show moving forward. It just sort of gave me a good team up vibe.

As the team approaches the station they remove their paint marks and Rampart mentions the rest of that (scene). Gamorreans were of course the pig men commonly used by Jabba as grunts. And I have to say seeing his arrogance on display here in this way is kinda entertaining. They quickly make their way through as Rampart easily bluffs his way past Lieutenant Holmes by name dropping Tarkin. Throughout this entire sequence you can also see Rampart constantly adjusting his captain’s badge letting us know that he is not quite comfortable with such a lowly rank. Rampart dismisses two stormtroopers by citing some imperial mambo jumbo and the stormtrooper that he is talking to here is voiced by Noshir Dalal who also happens to be the voice of Bode Akuna from Jedi survivor. The team knocks out an imperial technician while Wrecker knocks out lieutenant holmes. The team manage to find a ship and Rampart is upset as the plan changes as they realize that they can’t extract the coordinates from the science ship but will now have to attach themselves on it. Echo volunteers to infiltrate and just before they leave rampart says (scene) which reminded me of another villain who said the same thing albeit in a much darker tone (scene). Back on Tantiss, Omega begins her investigation as she tries to pry the panels open but not before being spotted by Doctor Scalder who previously appeared all the way back in season 1. Omega manages to detach the panel and finds that the shaft does offer a way out. Omega narrowly avoids Scalder’s detection and shares the good news with everyone else.

Echo makes his way to the vessel heading for Tantiss and he bumps into several astromech droids, the same type of droids as r2d2. Echo manages to infiltrate the ship through a vacuum chute which we first saw all the way back in a new hope when the Jawas capture R2D2. The rest of the team board their vessel and trail patiently waiting for Echo to deactivate the proximity sensors of the ship. There is a brief close call as Echo is almost discovered by he manages to get it done in the nick of time, escaping the attention of Lieutenant Novitz. Rampart tries to get the team to abort the mission but Hunter says (scene), which is arguably the coolest scene of the entire episode. And with that off they go to Tantiss...
