The Westminster Accounts: Who funds our MPs?

Trade unions, the state of Qatar and a little-known business in Hertfordshire are among the biggest donors to individual MPs since the last general election.

Sky News and Tortoise Media have launched the Westminster Accounts – a major project designed to shine a light on how money flows into politics.

Now we can reveal for the first time all the money, payments and gifts external organisations and individuals have donated to MPs since the end of 2019.

It is all legal and all the information has been publicly-declared.

But as a result of today’s revelations MPs have been accused of failing to provide "sufficient" transparency -- after our investigation struggled to uncover basic details about who is behind some major donations.

And you can find out much money your MP gets on top of their salary by going to the Sky News ap or website.
