Many of us enter relationships with a fantasy that we are with
someone who should never hurt us, confuse us, and certainly never betray us. While it is empowering to hold expectations, it is equally disempowering to cling to them when they do not come true.

The truth is this: every relationship is here in our lives to wake us up to the awareness that we are whole and complete without the other. Period. When we come to this awareness, we allow the other to be a messy and imperfect human without allowing it to devastate us. This growth takes us to liberation.
