After taking apart my old Oral-B toothbrush and being flabbergasted by its German engineering (link below) I didn’t expect much from the teardown of a defect dimmable 12V AC LED bulb (Philips Master LED spot GU5.3 MR16 9290011279).

Boy was I wrong! Inside I found two circuit boards, one populated on both sides doing the heavy lifting and the other with more circuitry plus the LEDs. It seems like the Netherland engineers did everything to outdo their German counterparts.
