Say Sue Me is an indie rock band from Busan, composed of vocalist and guitarist Choi Su-mi, guitarist Kim Byung-kyu, bassist Kim Jae-young, and drummer Lim Sung-wan.

They released their debut album, “We’ve Sobered Up,” in 2014 and still live in their hometown of Busan in the south-east corner of Korea, where their musical inspiration stems from. The four joined the British record label Damnably in 2017 and then performed at various festivals across Europe, including the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, and France. What’s more, the British pop legend Elton John introduced the band on his personal podcast, fueling their international success.

Interestingly enough, the qurtet’s physical distance from the capital city led them to break away from the mold of Korean indie rock music, where Kim Byung-kyu says “everything is focused.” Inside their own scene and hometown, they have been able to forge their own sound, which has unexpectedly attracted both local and global listeners.

Last month, Say Sue Me released their full-length album, “The Last Thing Left,” and is determined to start afresh after a pandemic-forced break.

손닿을 듯 가깝고 생생한 음악을 선물하는 도심 속 라이브 콘서트 [I'm Live]. 실력 있는 뮤지션들과 공연을 사랑하는 시청자들의 사랑을 한 몸에 받고 있는 [I'm Live] 263회의 주인공은 부산을 대표하는 서프 록 밴드, 세이수미이다.

세이수미는 최수미 (보컬, 기타), 김병규 (기타), 김재영 (베이스), 임성완 (드럼)으로 구성된 4인조 밴드로 2014년 첫 번째 정규앨범 'We've Sobered Up' 을 발표하며 데뷔했다. 첫 결성은 그들의 고향인 부산에서 시작되었으나 이후 2017년에는 잉글랜드의 레이블 '댐나블리(Damnably)' 와 계약을 맺으며, 잉글랜드, 독일, 네덜란드, 프랑스 등 유럽투어를 순회하며 이제는 전세계를 무대로 활동 중이다.

또한 엘튼 존이 세이수미의 'Old Town'을 개인 팟 캐스트를 통해 소개되면서 유명세를 얻으며, '제16회 한국대중음악상' 올해의 음반 후보를 포함한 총 5개 부문에 노미네이트 됐고, '올해의 모던 락 앨범', '올해의 모던 락 노래' 2관왕을 차지하며 평단으로부터 실력을 인정받았다.

2022년 정규 3집 [ The Last Thing Left ] 발매하며, 코로나로 잠시 멈췄던 투어를 계획 중인 세이수미의 글로벌한 행보에 기대를 모은다.

세이수미는 [I'm Live] 무대를 통해, 이번 3집 앨범의 타이틀곡 ‘Around You’와 수록곡 ‘No Real Place’, 대표곡 ‘Old Town’ 등을 선보일 예정이다. 세이수미의 무대는 6월 30일 새벽 1시 아리랑TV에서 감상할 수 있다.
