Building on the success of the previous series, Jamie’s Fifteen Minute Meals pushes the concept of fast, everyday food to the next level. Efficiently squeezing the cooking process even further, each half hour episode will offer two, exciting family meals back to back. In addition, Jamie has focused on reducing the calorie content of the dishes so that the viewer can confidently serve a nutritionally balanced meal to their family every day of the week. The ambition of the show is to inspire and excite the viewer and show them just what they can achieve in a little amount of time, with a few clever ideas.
In his usual, trademark, down-to-earth style, Jamie will take the viewer through the dishes in real time, with produce easily bought from supermarkets, using key kitchen equipment and offering hints and tricks to help the everyday home cook get something to the table that’s a cut above your average mid-week fare. This series, Jamie will continue to supply homely British and Mediterranean family staples, but he’ll also be drawing more inspiration from Asia including Thai, Indian and Chinese ideas, to uplift the household repertoire and offer some new notes and nuances to the family palate.
As with all of Jamie’s food programs, it has been ambitiously shot using the latest technology and some of the country’s finest food cameramen to provide lingering, macro-images, unusual angles and a filmic quality. Split screen and other graphical techniques are applied to help the editorial narrative of the show and to summarise the information for the viewer. The tone of the show remains upbeat, practical and humorous, the pace lively but relaxed.
