In this passage, Christ corrects pride and personal ambition, showing that kingdom greatness is found in humility and servanthood. Christ's sacrifice on the cross for sinners is the perfect example of this outlook, establishing the pattern of kingdom greatness. Where the world understands greatness through a theology of glory, Christ establishes that kingdom greatness is measured through a theology of suffering.
