How to fix a sticking reed tongue on an accordion

Описание к видео How to fix a sticking reed tongue on an accordion

This video shows a simple way to fix a sticking reed tongue on an accordion. Before doing this first try placing the accordion in a room with a different temperature to see if this will free the tongue. Never subject the accordion to high temperatures or place next to a radiator. You will melt the reed wax and create 'mega problems'. If the temperature changes don't work follow the steps in the video to manually free the reed.
Because of the very fine tolerances in good quality reeds it is common to get a reed sticking in a new accordion till it gets a chance for the reed to flex with playing. The change in temperature can be enough to free the reed as the metal expands or contracts. In older accordions there may be some debris caught between the tongue and the reed plate.
