At Current Connected, we are always excited to jump right into Victron's new products. They knocked it out of the park this time with the new 48V Multiplus-II 5kVA (5000VA) 120V inverter. With an impressively low 15W of idle draw, this inverter wins first place in terms of idle consumption per watt output, ESPECIALLY for a low-frequency inverter.

High frequency inverters such as Sol-Ark have gained popularity because they have much larger output capabilities while maintaining lower idle draws, but the drawback to them is their lack of surge and startup capacity.

Victron, having adopted a toroidal transformer, didn't sacrifice the ability to start heavy loads; instead they have improved the design to remove the only drawback of low-frequency inverters - their idle draw. The new design of this inverter is the best of all worlds!
