After 9 days of dry camping for Cheyenne Frontier Days, this is what we’ve learned as full-time RV newbies! 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

💦 We didn’t use nearly as much water as we thought… we have 150 gallons of fresh water on board and didn’t even use half of it!

🚿 We can go way longer without a shower than we thought we could 😂

🔌 We use much more power than we thought

🌬️ Using a generator on propane with 1 air conditioner running for several hours a day uses a LOT of propane 😅

🔋 200 aH of batteries is NOT a lot

🍳 Our “small” kitchen appliance (ie Ninja Foodi) sucks a TON of power

☀️ When it’s 80°+ outside, it’s hotter inside the metal box (ie RV) than it is outside, at least when you’re 100% exposed to the sun, even with an AC on and awnings out

Prior to this, we only boondocked for 2 or 3 days max, so this was a good learning experience! 🤓 We do also have a small solar setup, but there’s a safety recall that we need to get fixed so we aren’t using it until then. I think our power situation would’ve been a little better had we been able to use that! Ultimately if we decide to start boondocking more, we will likely look more into investing into more solar and/or batteries! ⚡️
