Factorio is a game about automation. Building the most efficient and effective factory possible, in a hostile environment. Using items ranging from inserters and furnaces to robots and trains, we'll work slowly but surely toward a rocket to escape the planet. Along the way I'll share tips and tricks I've learned over more than 600 hours of gameplay, trying to provide a guide from setup to victory. Although this isn't a tutorial exactly, you'll see every step of the way as I try to reach the goal.

While I do think I'm pretty good at Factorio, I am not an expert. You won't find good suggestions on how to minmax the game here... I will have a spaghetti factory and will be proud of it. Everything grows organically with only a general layout plan. However I still make the efficient use of resources and energy a priority. If you're looking for a perfect playthrough or tips on the exact ratio of boilers-to-generators than check out http://factorio.reddit.com. But if you're looking for a game with effective use of resources, slow but steady progress, and an eventual all-solar power supply then you're in the right place! Sure I'll have belts running everywhere and probably spend ten minutes trying to figure out how to unwrap an overly complex string of conveyors looping underneath each other, but it will all have a method to the madness. Also I'll make fun of myself while I do it. I hope you'll find it interesting!
