Clarification on why some plenums use a lift tube and some don’t.

He adds an iron base substrate instead of Laterite.

You do not have to see your plenum opening by making it a little smaller than tanks bottom and then add a mesh on the sides. Your substrates will then cover the sides and make you substrate look as though it is thicker than what it actually is.

In order to cover up the plenum bottom he added some black mech screen to the side all along the tanks parameter to cosmetically hide the bottom.

He keeps all records of his water parameters as a reference.

He even added bags of kitty litter to his tanks to aid in cleaning up his water and hopefully establish anoxic conditions in the bags.
