This is a long read but it’s the context to the video.

This is a very scenic area with thick tree canopies and lots of creek crossings some I could see having a really strong current after a hard rain. Luckily we didn’t have a single issue on any of them and it was kinda cool crossing some of the man made ones.

The trail starts off a gravel/dirt mix, lots of trails broke off from the main route. We were making such good time we decided to take a secondary trail that loops around and back to our planned route but we ran into a tricky spot where we decided to split the group, Brent and I would meet them at the intersection of the next trail head. Then Brent and I proceeded to run this other trail but we soon found out it had a spot that was way too narrow to get through because of a rock and a very steep creek bed. It was a recipe for a rollover into the creek. This trail was really thick with foliage and no room for error since we were so close to the creek but we managed to find a spot to get turned around. We got back to the main route and picked up the pace to try and catch up with Tammy and Jim at the next trail head.

At the time we were out of radio range. Brent and I went to where we thought they would be but they weren’t. So we went onto the next trail intersection which was probably 7 minutes further down the trail moving at speed. We weighed our options on how to find them. Then no more than 5 min we hear Jim breaking up on the radio. Jim!!! We both said! Then Tammy honked her horn and we figured out they were heading away from us. Soon after that we were back together.

We continued back on our route onto more trails and creek crossings. Then we were pretty deep in the trails when some dirt bike riders came up to Jim for some help. One of them had a chain pop off and needed tools. Jim called out on the radio and Brent grabbed his bag and they walked way back to the creek bed area where the guys were at to help fix their bike. After about 35 minutes they make it back then we head on our way through one last creek crossing then a really large field that was a little surprising. After the large field we hit the pavement and we all aired back up. We then leave for Mullins Station the old limestone mine.

Mullins Station did not disappoint. I wouldn’t drive in the mine because of the glass and nails everywhere but it’s definitely worth checking out. Totally had creepy vibes if you ask me. Was a great day I’m pretty sure we all had awesome time. I’d definitely go back down to the area again and explore.
