Kolomona Slack Key at Ho`omaluhia

Описание к видео Kolomona Slack Key at Ho`omaluhia

Nedward Kaapana wrote this bouncy instrumental as a gift to Solomon Aikau, you can see him playing it here:    • Da Hawaii Pidgin Bible, Music - Kolomona

Ledward Kaapana often calls this tune when we play together and it was the first one we played when we set up for a shoot at the magnificent Ho`omaluhia Botanical Garden at the foot of the Ko`olau in Kane`ohe. https://www1.honolulu.gov/parks/hbg/h...

Note the appearance of a mongoose back by the tree line at about 3:54 into the video.

We're playing in taropatch open G tuning, spelled D G D G B D from low to high.

The audio was recorded using a Zoom H6 with its XY module, the included foam wind screen, and a Rycote furry screen over that. Video was captured using a Lumix GH3 on Ledward's side, a GM1 on my side, and a GX7 for the moving shot.

Special thanks to Pat La`a for introducing us to this magnificent location and for manning the GX7 camera.

All editing in Edius.
