In 1991, SEGA released Sonic the Hedgehog into the world, creating a universally beloved game for which Masato Nakamura wrote the classic soundtrack. 30 years later, Nakamura added a new melody and Miwa Yoshida wrote new lyrics to transform the iconic Green Hill Zone. This video captures the magical moment when the revamped song bridges the 30 years between then and now. Don’t miss the additional bonus of the band talking about their feelings for this song in the video!

DREAMS COME TRUE’s desire for the song to touch the widest possible audience goes well beyond reproducing live concert quality. Here is a rich universe of sound combining the iconic phrases of Green Hill Zone with the sheer vitality of the band, mixed together with their interpretation of the sounds of the natural world. Of note is Miwa Yoshida’s inspired ad-libbing in the chorus, which happened during the recording of the English version. You can feel it’s a celebration of something newly born, a bridge to everyone and anyone in the world who listens.

2021年10月から2022年4月にかけて開催中の全国ツアー「DREAMS COME TRUE
ACOUSTIC風味LIVE　総仕上げの夕べ ～仕上がりがよろしいようで〜」より、「次のせ～の！で　- ON THE GREEN HILL – DCT VERSION」のライヴ映像を公開！
1991年、後に世界中に愛されていったSEGAのゲーム「ソニック・ザ・ヘッジホッグ」のために中村正人が書き下ろした「Green Hill Zone」に、新たなメロディと吉田美和の歌詩を加えることで生まれた奇跡の曲。30年の時を繋ぐ楽曲が会場のみなさんへ手渡された瞬間を収めた記念すべき映像だ。演奏前にはこの曲に対する想いをメンバー自ら語っており、そちらもお見逃しなく。
ライヴ音源は、曲自体の魅力を最大限表現するため、ライヴ再現に留まらない音像を目指したとのこと。バンドの生の息遣いが感じられるだけでなく、「Green Hill Zone」のアイコニックなフレーズや雄大な自然を思わせるサウンドがリッチに鳴り響き、「この曲をもっと広く届けたい」というDREAMS COME TRUEの想いを体現した攻めのミックスとなっている。さらに吉田美和のBメロでのアドリブは英語ヴァージョンのレコーディングの時に生まれたもので、全世界へと橋を架けるような、ここから新しく何かが始まる予感が感じられるはず!
