Key of D. Brad Leftwich-fiddle, Linda Higginbotham-banjo, Sam Bartlett-guitar, Abby Ladin-bass. From the playing of Luther Davis (1887-1986) of Grayson County, Virginia. Oddly enough, we were inspired to learn this lovely old Galax tune years ago while playing with old-time musician Dai Griffiths on the island of Mallorca, Spain. There are probably several recordings out there of Luther playing it but the one we happened to have was from a home recording on the mysterious label Birthday Girl put out by Heath Curdts.
