Yes, this is THE version of "La Gazza Ladra" that
Stanley Kubrick used to great effect in his 1971
dystopian movie, A CLOCKWORK ORANGE.

Born on Leap Year day in 1792, Gioachino Antonio Rossini wrote 39 operas (among other works), and semi-retired at age 37 after the composition of WILLIAM TELL left him physically spent. Being financially secure, in fact, the richest composer in Italy, he sporadically wrote less ambitious yet still high quality pieces. Rossini died at age 76 of colorectal cancer.
