Way before "Riverdale", and even before "The Archie Show", Archie, Jughead, Betty and Veronica were on a hit radio series that ran from 1943 - 1953. For most of its run it was a 30 minute Saturday morning comedy. It was remembered as a loud series where characters were guaranteed to shout.

The most famous Archie was Bob Hastings (1925-2014) was also played Superboy in animation in the 1960s, and was memorable for 1990s to 2000s kids as Commissioner Gordon for the various Batman animated series and video games.
