Project Synopsis:
HPCL, proposed a cross country pipeline project to install a LPG pipeline in Maharashtra starting from Uran to Shikrapur via Chakan, totalling a length of 164.65 kms.

there is a mountain of 600 meters height with 70-degree slop standing between you when you are installing a cross country pipeline, you may face a uphill battle of nature versus Engineering!
A small length of section on this Uran-Chakan Shikrapur pipeline route which challenged the most during this project was named BhivpuriGhat.

Installing LPG pipeline in Western Ghats was a daunting task indeed. Previous attempts of installing pipeline didn’t work because pipeline got washed out due to rainfall and land-slides. Entire pipeline lost with heavy damage to coating and welded joints.

Ace Pipeline took up the challenge of installing a 112.5 kms long LPG pipeline, starting from Uran to Chakan.

The mission required unique solutions to counter the challenges presented by thick forest cover, challenging terrain and extreme weather.
