Beautiful Trail Hiking in Trinity Alps Wilderness: Morris Meadow to Emerald Lake (Unreal!)

This backpacking trip into trinity alps wilderness is located in northern California within the Shasta trinity national forest. To start, this trip was easily one of the best hikes/backpacking trips Ive been on to date. The beginning of the hike provided numerous little streams, emerald green trees and ferns which were scattered among numerous creek and river crossings (some of which had log crossings and others which did not meaning you were definitely going to get wet). after grinding out the first 9 miles or so your patience seems to be wearing thin as the scenery becomes somewhat repetitive but dont worry, its not in vain. Just as the spirit starts dipping is when you are greeted with increasingly greener meadows until you are in awe of coming upon Morris meadow which seems to come out of nowhere. We had a beautiful spot at the edge of the meadow and despite the ranger telling us that it was going to be a crowded weekend, we may have seen a total of 20 people the entire trip. I have said this for a while but this place is as good if not better than Yosemite national park. You have to work for it a little more but you have 1/100th the people. This trip was done the very last couple days of may and first few of june. As you can see the mountains were still very much snow capped and the sapphire lake was still frozen. Epic trip!!! 5/5 stars.
